In 2017, NPI played a role in a project in De Kwakel. The project involved the comprehensive renovation of four basins adjacent to a greenhouse complex. The embankments underwent repairs, NPI installed new embankment protection and the basins were equipped with a new lining.
Over these expansive surfaces, ENPEX FPP 0.6 mm film was installed. This ENPEX FPP film, the most commonly used film for these applications, stands out for its durability, cost-effectiveness, and certification for use with drinking water.
Each basin’s film was pre-welded at our production site in Tzummarum. The four large assemblies were then welded together on-site, connecting them to the embankments. Notably, the film extends to cover the embankments between the basins, creating a cohesive system where the four basins are connected.
NPI supplied film for a number of sludge basins for S&G Harlingen. This dredging and groundwork company has no less than eight sludge basins, into which various types of earth and sludge are pumped and processed. This includes both wet and dry dredgings, and clean to heavily polluted dredgings and sludge. The sludge basins include the largest in the Netherlands, with a surface area of around 15,000 m2. These evaporation basins allow wet dredgings to settle, leaving earth for further processing. Polluted dredgings are transformed into reusable raw materials.
The sludge basins for which we supplied film are used for heavier dredgings. As such, we used 2 mm HDPE film. During the first phase, our team welded 12,000 m2 of film together on site. In the second phase, we installed more than 25,000 m2 of film.
Our certification allowed us to carry out this fantastic project in Harlingen. The KIWA certificate was required for this project, which allowed us to put our expertise into practice during the delivery of these film assemblies.
Every holiday park needs a pond, and NPI often plays a role in their realisation. We have provided extensive, tailor-made pond liners to numerous holiday parks in the Netherlands and Belgium, serving as the basis for unique ponds. Whether it is a natural pond or a pond with a round or straight configuration, our pond liners can be customized to fit any shape or size.
In the past year, NPI supplied 5500 m2 of PVC pond liner for a holiday park in Otterlo. This particular holiday park has become familiar to us, as we have previously supplied pond liners for other ponds in this park. The 15 prefabricated film panels were prefabraicated at our production facility and welded together on-site by two of our specialists.
With the expected expansion of the holiday park in the future, we look forward to again applying our expertise to contribute to its development!
In 2016, the old mustard gas laboratory in Zaandam was transformed into a restaurant. To ensure that any gas residues could not seep up from the soil, NPI was asked to cover the base of the building. 0.75 mm FPP film was installed on the floor and against the edges with strips and sealant to create an airtight whole.
The result was a beautiful restaurant, free of any gas residues!
It is important that the subsurface of a hockey field is stable and water permeable. This is why NPI was asked to install film for the drainage system of a hockey field in Leerdam.
Once the ground had been properly levelled, a watertight film layer was created using 0.50 mm LDPE film. White protective felt was subsequently laid on top of the film to protect the upper surface. The drainage pipes were installed on top of this, and the entire assembly was covered with a layer of sand and finally the top layer of artificial turf.
The three huge LDPE sheets were prefabricated at our production location in Tzummarum and welded together on location. No less than 17 fittings were installed in the side wall. These were connected to the drainage tubes.
In this way, the hockey field was provided with a good drainage system that keeps the field free of excess water!
