In hypdroponics, (leafy) crops are grown on water in a greenhouse. The crops float on water in shallow cultivation gutters, allowing them to grow without using soil or substrate. Year-round cultivation can be done with this methodology, in a sustainable way and with consistent quality.
In 2018, a lettuce and celery specialist had an entirely new greenhouse complex constructed in Warmenhuizen. With the purpose to grow vegetables on water in a sustainable way. For the installation of the cultivation floors and water reservoirs, the grower called on our help via a dealer. We prefabricated 16 film panels of FPP 0.60 mm to cover the cultivation trays. The film panels were welded together on site to create watertight containers that can be filled with water.
